The function of the flow limiting orifice plate:
1. Areas where process materials need to be reduced.
2. When a larger pressure drop is required downstream of the valve in the conduit to reduce the flow of the valve, when there is no gas expansion through the orifice plate, the orifice plate can be connected in series to erode the upstream of the valve.
3. Places where fluid requires low and continuous flow, such as the flushing pipe of the pump, the bypass pipe of the hot standby pump (low flow protection pipe), and the analysis sampling pipe.
4. It is necessary to reduce noise or wear in areas such as exhaust systems.
The principle of flow limiting orifice plate:
The flow limiting orifice can be used as a flow measuring element to measure flow, or as a throttling element to limit flow and reduce pressure. When there is a certain pressure difference across the pipe opening, the fluid flowing through the pipe opening flows through the hole with increasing pressure for a given aperture. However, when the pressure difference exceeds a certain value (known as the critical pressure difference), the flow rate of fluid through the nozzle reaches the speed of sound. No matter how the pressure difference increases, the flow rate through the nozzle will remain at a certain value without increasing. The orifice is defined as the reduced pressure and fluid flow according to this principle.
