Multistage flow limiting and pressure reducing orifice plates are used to measure and control limited flow and pressure drop. When there is a certain pressure difference between the orifice plate and the orifice plate, the fluid flows through the orifice plate. For a certain aperture, the flow through the orifice plate increases with the increase of the pressure difference. However, when the pressure difference exceeds a certain value (known as critical pressure difference), the velocity of fluid through the orifice shrinkage reaches the speed of sound. At this time, no matter how the pressure difference increases, as long as the pressure upstream of the orifice remains certain, the flow through the orifice will remain at a certain value and will not increase. The current limiting orifice plate is based on this principle to limit the flow of fluid and reduce the pressure.
